Discover the fabulous career of one of the greatest artists
of the 20th century who gave birth to the famous comic book characters of Tintin and Snowy.
Located slightly outside the city, the museum is home to a collection of more than 80 original plates, 800 photos, documents and various objects belonging to this multi-talented artist.

A daring place

The Hergé Museum has celebrated its 10th birthday!
Stroll through this luminous place with its individual shapes reminiscent of an upside-down boat, on the edge of the Parc de la Source. The architect Christian de Portzamparc designed this building as a mental maze in relation to Hergé’s world in order to reveal his universality, complexity and richness. You will succumb to its charm, even before entering the museum!

Tintin is more than 90 years old

Stroll through the heart of the work of the Master of the Clear Line in the 8 rooms dedicated to him. The visit begins on the top floor, where you will discover the life of this multi-talented artist, the essential characters and the scenario of the Adventures of Tintin, inspired by the current events of his time.
You will see the many real and fictitious objects evoking the distant worlds and mysterious civilisations of Tintin’s various trips.
Born in 1929 in the land of the Soviets, Tintin celebrated his 90th birthday in 2019.

Hergé, whose real name was Georges Rémi, took his pseudonym from the French pronunciation of his initials: RG.
The artist lived in Walloon Brabant in the bucolic village of Céroux-Mousty.

“Le Petit vingtième“, the restaurant located within the museum, welcomes you in a setting inspired by the covers of the weekly supplement of the newspaper ‘Le Vingtième Siècle’ which published the Adventures of Tintin from 10 January 1929 onwards.

Finish by visiting the shop, the Librairie Hergé. There, you will find the items connected to the famous Belgian reporter or Hergé’s creations: books, mythical objects, cuddly toys, figurines, albums etc. all fun to share, from 7 to 77 years old!

There are temporary exhibitions, conferences, events and activities related to Tintin’s life, guided tours, which are occasionally free-of-charge, and a great interactive audio guide!

For every Chinese New Year, the Hergé Museum organises a range of activities: guided tours, night tours and Asian menus in the Petit Vingtième to immerse you in the Chinese atmosphere.
