Description
The Frankish etymology of the name of Wahenges – among the people of Waha – is testament to a very ancient human settlement.
A tenant farm is mentioned on the estate of Averbode Abbey as far back as 1149.
The current enclosed square farmhouse with its dovecote porch, main building made from Gobertange stone,
sheepfold, stables, bakehouses and huge barn with three naves and eight bays was built starting in 1718.
The farmhouse, which is one of the most beautiful examples of rural architecture in Brabant, is listed as exceptional real estate of Wallonia.
