In the Bois des Rêves...

A name full of promise, don’t you think? This haven of peace is just right for relaxation in the heart of nature. Children can play in complete safety in the immense playground dedicated to them, follow the many marked paths or get some exercise on the 15 obstacles of the 1.5 km health trail. The sportier can try a closed-circuit mountain bike track, while others can try their hand at fishing for white fish (pond accessible from April to November). And all this for free! Feeling hungry? Bring your own meat and rent a spot for a barbecue (from April to October) or take advantage of the park’s cafeteria.

…or somewhere else!

In Walloon Brabant, there are many green spaces ideal for walks and relaxation.

Feel like pedalling a little? In the Brabant Hesbaye, we have thought of you! In our brochures you’ll find 7 family loops (in French) so you can get on your bike to enjoy the beautiful Brabant countryside with your children. To your bikes, everyone!

YOU LEARN BY HAVING FUN!

Would you like a more educational outing? We’ve got just the thing for you! In Walloon Brabant, some tourist sites have paid special attention to children and have developed some great visiting tools, so you can learn things while having fun! 😉

The Abbey of Villers-la-Ville: an enchanting world

With its visitors’ centre, redesigned tour route, animals, gardens and interactive tablets, the Abbey of Villers-la-Ville has something for every family. The place is entirely secure. You will be able to wander around without fear, even with small bicycles or scooters! For an affordable price (€3 per child + €5 for the rental of the tablet), you will plunge into the heart of its history in the company of the monk-ghost Odelin. The augmented-reality interactive tablet will allow everyone to appreciate the beauty of the Abbey during the Middle Ages, when it was occupied by monks.

On the hill, children can enjoy petting the little Skyros horses, playing with the sheep or saying hello to the donkeys. If they are observant, they will also spot goats and geese in the Abbey grounds.

Good plan

A ‘family pass’ is also available for €30. This allows unlimited access to the Abbey for one year from the date of purchase.

Napoleon’s Last Headquarters: Walking in the Steps of History

At Napoleon’s Last Headquarters, the younger ones will relive the night before the famous Battle of Waterloo. They will discover Napoleon, his officers, his aides-de-camp and the surgeons through scenography specially designed for them. They will be able to observe and touch many objects to understand the course of the battle. The Emperor’s bed is even still in the Farm!

If they are still not tired, take the opportunity to climb the Lion’s Mound! They can count the number of steps to get to the top!

Le TILT: explore the world and let your imagination guide you

In addition to the activities dedicated to schools and other courses, TILT also welcomes families. But what is TILT? It is a unique place offering activities and training for children and young people, whose objective is to help them discover the diversity of the world around us. Relive your childhood again in this colourful space and let your imagination open up!

The TILT space explores the five continents and during family open times, ‘explo-workshops’ are set up. These explorations with workshops are temporary and a new theme is in the spotlight each time. It is therefore possible to come back to TILT several times and try new workshops, other stories, different theatrical adventures and new games!
