Description
The Beauvechain air base museum is a must-see for military history and aviation enthusiasts!
The 1 Wing Historical Centre (1WHC) traces the history of the airfield from the 1930s up to the present day. On display are aircrafts, engines (also educational), vehicles, uniforms and numerous historical objects from that period.
The site is special because it is the former De Waersegger farm, which was occupied and converted by the Germans from 1940, then by the Allied forces in October 1944 and finally by the Belgian Air Force from 1946.
The museum celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2023.
