Description
The museum at Beauvechain airbase is a must-see for military and aviation history enthusiasts!
The 1 Wing Historical Centre (1WHC) retraces the aerodrome’s history from the 1930s to today. Aircraft, engines (also instructional ones), vehicles, uniforms and a host of historical artefacts from this period.
The premises is especially significant because it is the old De Waersegger farm, occupied and converted by the Germans in 1940, then by the allies in October 1944, and finally by the Belgian Air force in 1946. The museum has been on these premises since 1988.
