For its 320th anniversary in 2026, the Commemoration of the Battle of Ramillies 1706 is reinventing itself and offering a full and festive weekend program!
Program of festivities:
Friday, May 22, 2026, starting at 8:00 p.m.
- Lecture presented by Clément Oury, PhD from the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
- “The Battle of Ramillies: The Facts and the Facts”
- Second Conference: “The Life of Belgians at the Time of the Battle”
Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM
- Official Ceremony
- Opening
- Encampment with numerous actors living as they did at the time
- Reenactment of military actions involving infantry and cavalry (firing, maneuvers, combat, etc.)
- Guided tour of the battlefield by miniature train
- Entertainment (bagpipes, dances, etc.)
- Inflatable castle for children
- Numerous artisans (featuring extinct trades and local crafts)
- Food trucks and bars
- Exhibition
- Saturday evening from 8:00 PM: Folk evening with live music by 3…4
Sunday, May 24, 2026
- Encampment with numerous actors living as they did at the time
- Reenactment of military actions involving infantry and cavalry (firing, maneuvers, combat, etc.)
- Guided tour of the battlefield Battle on a miniature train
- Entertainment (bagpipes, dances, etc.)
- Children’s bouncy castle
- Numerous artisans (featuring traditional crafts and local artisans)
- Food trucks and bars
- Exhibition
- Sunday evening: Interactive concert featuring bagpipes and Scottish traditions
