Promenade through the Gardens of Mélin

Promenade des jardins de Mélin

Description

Many Belgians, lovers of nature and heritage, know Mélin well, coming to stroll through it on foot or by bike for an afternoon.

Every season is beautiful, but it’s in late spring that the village truly captivates, when lush greenery contrasts with the white of the houses and farmhouses.

After a four-year hiatus, the Mélin Gardens Walk is back with a fantastic program:

  • 41 private gardens open to the public, including 14 new ones
  • 18 courtyards and flower-filled facades (2026 theme)
  • 2 educational trails: “Biodiversity in our gardens” and “Mélin – history and architecture”
  • Opening concert on Friday at 8 pm
  • Featuring quality local businesses: BisousBisous de Mélin (bistro-style outdoor dining), Maison – Lieu de Partage (plant-based and flexible cuisine), Arth en Vrac (savory snacks and sweet treats), Nat’urellement (local and delicious), and Piétrain pork (tastings)
  • Artists and craftspeople will showcase their skills with elegance
  • 3 shuttle buses with 3 stops between 3 different locations
  • 5 musical interludes in each location
  • On-site partners
  • Marc Knaepen (garden specialist) will be available to answer your questions
