Description
This procession, which has been classified as “Immaterial heritage of the French Community, is made up exclusively of horsemen (even the musicians are on horseback). To honour Saint Renelde, the patron saint of the village,150 to 200 riders do the rounds!
After an early morning mass, the Grand Tour with its musicians, all riding horses, leaves at 7:30 for a 30 km jaunt encompassing the neighbouring towns, before returning to Saintes to escort the chariot to church.
