Every year in February, the famous “Tarte al Djote” quality labels are awarded in Nivelles.
The Tarte al d’jote is a culinary speciality of Nivelles, containing two very specific ingredients: bètchèye (fermented cheese made from skimmed cow’s milk) and chard.
This tart is the perfect combination of cheese, chard, eggs, chopped parsley, spring onions and butter. It should be eaten hot, with a large piece of salted butter!
