The 75 km long round trip cycle route between the twin cities of Leuven and Louvain-la-Neuve is dedicated to the Big Bang and its founder, Georges Lemaître. The tour starts at the Lemaître statue in one of the two cities, brings you to the statue of Lemaître in the other city and returns via another way. Returning can also be done by train. The route will take you through the Meerdaal forest, meandering its way past the myriad lovely spots punctuating the rural Walloon Brabant landscape. The terrain is full of rolling hills, so get ready to tackle a few steep slopes. At a number of places, the possibility exists to choose a more gentle, family-type of route or a MTB route.
